Congratulations to the 2024 graduates from the Department of Chemistry! Our graduation ceremony on May 4, 2024 honored our 82 graduates who completed B.S. or B.A. degrees in Chemistry or Biochemistry. After a morning reception, our large auditorium was filled beyond its capacity of 330 seats with graduates, faculty, family and friends attending. The ceremony began as Department Chair Steve Tait provided a welcome. Professor David Clemmer provided the commencement address and Associate Chair Charles Dann presented the graduates.
26 graduating seniors were academic scholarship recipients. 20 graduating seniors were summer research fellowship recipients. Twelve seniors earned the Chemistry Honors Notation on their degrees. This achievement requires maintaining 3.3 GPA or better and completing a thesis research project. Those scholars and the professors they worked with are listed below.
