Henry Castillo joined the Department of Chemistry in 2015 to pursue a PhD in physical chemistry. Under the mentorship of Professor Steven Tait, Henry’s research focused on the molecular self-assembly at liquid/solid interfaces. Through the NSF funded Molecular Materials and Design Laboratory, Henry heavily collaborated with Professors Amar Flood, Krishnan Raghavachari, and Peter Ortoleva. During Henry’s time at IU, he was a recipient of the President’s Diversity Initiative Fellowship and participated in the Velocity Conference in Silicon Valley through the Kelly School of Business. Upon completing his doctorate in 2020, Henry accepted a position as a lithography process engineer at Intel’s development fabrication plant in Oregon. Outside of work, Henry enjoys exploring the beautiful pacific north-west, tasting through Oregon’s wine country, and scuba diving.
