Professor Silas Cook was recently selected, along with ten other IU faculty members, as part of the inaugural cohort of Faculty Innovation Ambassadors at IU. This group will support researchers as they develop their research and guide them in understanding translational activities related to intellectual property and commercial development. This exciting news was featured in a recent IU Today news release.
Dr. Cook is a professor of chemistry specializing in organic synthesis, ‘green’ chemistry, and catalysis. In addition to running an organic chemistry laboratory, he also works to support, develop, and commercialize chemical solutions in today’s marketplace. Currently serving as the Chief Scientist on the boards of startup companies TImburn, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) and Outer Guimet (Paris, FR), he also consults for a range of law firms, investor relations firms, and biotech investment firms—including Kaye Scholar, Jones Day, LifeSci advisors, and others.
